| From
days gone by an old and proud, Troop 114 had not enough Scouts to
keep the campfire burning… over time their fire dimmed to red
and gray embers. One day six wandering Scouts and their Parents, wanting
to be warmed in the cold of night, visited this campfire.
These Scouts quickly started to gather wood before all of
the embers faded to gray. As
the flames started to appear in this old Campfire, Adult
Trainers appeared from this place they call the Doug Fir District.
They spread their wisdom to every Adult being warmed by
this rekindled fire. Troop
114’s campfire is again ablaze!!
Troop
114 was rekindled in January 2000 with first six, then soon twelve
determined boys and a lot of great parent help.
Our Adult Leader Training Staff in our Doug Fir District
made being a new Scoutmaster more fun than a challenge.
Our Troop has been blessed with great parents that
have taken Assistant Scoutmaster positions and committee
assignments that bring an abundance of skills into our Troop.

I
can’t say enough about our parents. They are always there to help
with rides, equipment, planning a Court Of Honor and just about
anything they are asked to do for our Troop.
Those
original six Scouts that soon became twelve?
Well they are now thirty four.
Thirty four Boy Scouts well on their way along The Trail Of The
Eagle. Their ages
range from 11 to 16 years old and have formed six Patrols within
our Troop. We are
Sponsored by The First United Methodist Church located at 1771 W.
Harvard Blvd in Roseburg, Oregon.
Check
out our Calendar and pick a date to come and visit us.
Feel free to attend any of our meetings, outings or special
events. If you would
like more information about Scouting just contact any of our
Scoutmasters and they will be more than happy to answer your
questions. Scouting
is a great adventure!
